Smart Mom’s Guide to Essential Oils (Ulysses Press, 2017) by Dr. Maria Snyder helps moms everywhere to use essentials oils to make sure their family is safe, happy, and healthy. Her guide also includes tips to help moms reduce their stress and increase their energy to keep chasing after their little ones. The following excerpt is her process for creating your solid perfumes with your favorite essential oils.

Solid Homemade Perfume

Yield: 1 application

• 1 tablespoon beeswax
• 3 tablespoons grape-seed oil
• 1 tablespoon almond oil
• 20 drops essential oil blend
• 1 metal container (to store perfume)

Directions: Melt the beeswax in a double boiler. Add grape-seed and almond oils and stir ingredients completely, approximately 1 to 3 minutes. Once melted, remove from heat and let sit for 3 to 5 minutes. Add essential oil blend to mixture and stir.

Pour perfume blend into a metal container and let harden for 10 to 15 minutes. Store in purse for easy access.

Note: I recommend adorning yourself with your favorite perfume throughout the day for incredible aromatherapy and mood benefits. I have included some of my favorite perfume blends below to use for this recipe.
