Occupation: Owner/Grower Plant-It Earth Greenhouse and Gardens

Residence: Homer City, PA

Background: Karin is a grower at Plant-It Earth Greenhouse and Gardens, which she established 1995. She grows everything on-site using organic methods. The gardens are planted with the company’s plant offering so that customers can see how the plants will perform in the garden.

Karin taught gardening classes at Continuing Education Classes, Indiana University Of Pennsylvania. She was awarded the Evergreen Conservancy Award “In honor of leadership and stewardship in the protection and preservation of our environment.” Karin enjoys digital photography and writing when she is not working in the garden.

Current projects: Karin is working on a drought-tolerant perennial garden for zone 5 and a pollinator garden.
