Classy, Brassy Curtain Rod

Recently, I needed a curtain rod to go with a large window in my home. After pricing a mediocre one at the local department store at $80, I figured I could make one myself.

I bought a 10-foot length of copper pipe at the contractor supply store for $9, plus some epoxy glue, copper end caps and the cheapest curtain rod mounts I could find. I had leftover parts, and so I also made a toilet paper holder and towel rack for my bathroom.

In all, the parts for all three of these items cost less than $20 and making everything took about two hours. The pieces have become the envy of all my houseguests.
