Join Charlotte and Zach as they discuss catching swarms and the business of bees with Hilary Kearney of Girl Next Door Honey.
Podcast host Charlotte Brunin is passionate about creating new ways to share the experience of MOTHER EARTH NEWS with the publication's "friends." When she is not at her desk or enjoying one of the many Fairs, you can find her working on her homestead to develop a more self-sufficient lifestyle. Charlotte enjoys studying traditional medicine especially those shared to us from indigenous cultures.
Community Chickens podcast host, Zach Foley joined us for this podcast to broaden his knowledge of beekeeping. Who knows, maybe keeping bees is next for him… You can also find Zach working behind the scenes at any of our MOTHER EARTH NEWS FAIRS.
Hilary Kearney is a full-time beekeeper in her hometown of San Diego, California. Her business Girl Next Door Honey provides educational opportunities for hundreds of new beekeepers each year. Her beekeeping exploits and unique business model have inspired people all around the world. She writes for Keeping Backyard Bees and authors the beekeeping blog Beekeeping Like a Girl and maintains a popular Instagram account. When she’s not rescuing bees, teaching about bees, photographing bees or managing one of her ninety colonies… she’s sleeping and dreaming of bees.
