I’m sometimes awakened during the night by hiccups. Of course I’d heard about that old hiccup remedy, drinking a glass of water, but I came up with my own variation: I inhale deeply, then drink the water in 25 really small swallows.
The peristaltic action of the swallows neutralizes the hiccups.
