I was looking for a flower trellis for some morning glory vines in front of my mother’s house. Nice lattice panels cost about $20 each. I needed five of them, so I had to find a cheaper way.
Here is how to do it: Get a roll of medium-duty poly cord. Cut pieces the length from the eaves of the house to the ground with enough extra to wrap around a cement block. Hammer small nails, spaced evenly, along the eaves. Attach the cord to the nails and secure it to the blocks below. Tighten the cords to the same tautness. Plant your morning glory seeds and watch the flower vines climb the cord — lovely and inexpensive.
