Don’t let a drop in outdoor temperatures mean a drop in your vehicle’s fuel efficiency. According to AAA, tires lose about one pound of pressure with every 10 degree Fahrenheit drop in temperature during cold weather (the opposite is true during warm weather). Under-inflated tires decrease fuel efficiency, adding up to more than one billion gallons of wasted gas each year! Under-inflated tires can also impact vehicle handling, cause premature wear and can overheat and fail at highway speeds.

- Check tire pressure at least once a month. Don’t forget the spare.
- Get the most accurate reading by checking pressure when tires are cold.
- Follow tire pressure recommendations in your vehicle owner’s manual. Tire pressure information may also be found on an information label in the glove box or on the driver’s side door jamb.
