Get to know Doug Kennedy of TM4 Group.

What are you going to speak about at the MOTHER EARTH NEWS FAIR?

I’ll speak about Homeowner Operation and Maintenance – Long term impact/cost related to home and health of occupants, 4:00 – 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 5.

What are you most looking forward to sharing with FAIR attendees?

Solutions and cost saving methods for protecting the investment in their home and health.

Tell us about your background with your particular topic.

Our company, Pathway Design & Construction, has been involved with quality Healthy Home construction for a number of years. Our focus on IAQ and Operation & Maintenance has been instrumental in our creation of the helpful assessment tools and solutions for problems most home owners face. Our involvement with TM4 Group, on the educational front, has allowed us to get information to home owners that can make a tremendous difference not only the in health of the house, but personal health as well.

Why should fairgoers attend your presentation?

It will be a great way to end the Fair – Being scared to death by what you see and refreshed by the answers provided. We will explore the hidden costs to health and property involved with home ownership and hopefully generate ideas on how to better control and reduce them. We will explore why a $200 issue can and often does become a $10 – 20,000 repair. Why poor IAQ can lead to thousands of dollars in additional health care costs.

How will you get to the FAIR, and how far do you have to travel?

I’ll travel 35 miles by Metro.

What are you most looking forward to at the FAIR?

The learning opportunities.

What advice do you have for attendees?

Bring lots of questions, as there will be some great resources available.

If you were stranded on a deserted island and could have only one thing, what would you choose?

The obvious answer is – A Boat! Aside from that – a little sunscreen so I could enjoy the environment.

Thanks, Doug. We’ll see you at the FAIR!
