What are you going to speak about at the MOTHER EARTH NEWS FAIR?

How to make dairy free milks and cheeses! The number of lactose-intolerant people is rising every day! More people are choosing to give up dairy for health and ethical reasons as well. What, then, will you have with your corn flakes? What goes with cookies? What do you serve the kids after school? How about a nice fresh glass of mylk. No, that’s not a typo, it’s how the alternative to dairy milk is often spelled.

Making mylk from seeds and nuts is easy and inexpensive. You can also make cheese and yogurt using the same basic recipes. In this demo you’ll see all of those!

My other two workshops cover non-dairy seed cheese and the nutrient decline in America.

What are you most looking forward to sharing with FAIR attendees?

How easy and inexpensive it can be to make healthy food.

Tell us about your background with your particular topic.

I’ve been making and eating dairy-free food for about 20 years. Cleared up chronic sinus infections, winter colds and upper respiratory illness. As a Board Certified Holistic Health Practitioner, I help people make choices to support their health and release the need for pharmaceuticals.

Why should fairgoers attend your presentation?

Fairgoers should come to this demo because there are no nutrients in milk which cannot be obtained elsewhere. There is no need to milk in any adult diet. Human breast milk is only about 6% protein – if that’s how much an INFANT needs to build bones, surely a fully grown adult does not need that amount. There are no other adult animals on the planet which consume milk beyond nursing. Fairgoers should come learn how to make tasty beverages and food which promote health. Dairy creates mucous in the system and who wants that?

How will you get to the FAIR, and how far do you have to travel?

I will drive from Virginia Beach, VA, about 370 miles. To make it economical and to contribute MORE to everyone’s health, I am scheduling classes along the way. I hope to reach the greatest number of people possible with messages of health.

What are you most looking forward to at the FAIR?

Connecting with all the amazing attendees! I had such a wonderful time last year and can’t wait to see everyone. To be in one place with so many people wanting to improve their health in smart, economical, environmental way is such a blessing.

What advice do you have for attendees?

Study the schedule beforehand and note first and second choices for presentations. Make purchases when you see something you want – I sold out of many items very early last year. Bring lots of cash and checks! This stimulates the economy more than plastic and enables vendors to keep prices low.

If you were stranded on a deserted island and could have only one thing, what would you choose?

My honey – we make a really good team and he knows more about gardening than I do! So we’d still eat well.

Thanks, Sharon. We’ll see you at the FAIR!
