The second Mother Earth News Fair in Puyallup, Wash. was a huge success! A whopping 12,000 people flooded the Western Washington Fairgrounds over the course of two days.
Thanks to our sponsor T-Mobile, 1,415 attendees got in free for recycling a cell phone. We appreciate everyone who brought a phone to the Fair to keep them out of our landfills!
Gianaclis Caldwell showed a standing-room-only crowd how to make cheese on the Real Food stage on Sunday. More than 100 experts presented 185 workshops on 15 stages, so there was always something exciting to learn about.
Almost all the food at the Fair was organic, including the amazingly delicious ice cream from Lopez Island Creamery.
This year marked the debut of the Heirloom Seed Display, a combined effort of the Mother Earth News, Southern Exposure Seed Exchange, Organic Seed Alliance, Native Seeds, and Seed Savers Exchange teams. The display was sponsored by Botanical Interests and Peaceful Valley Farm & Garden Supply, and will come to Pennsylvania this September.
Hundreds of exhibitors packed the Americraft ShowPlex and the Centennial building, including Pepperjack Home, which sold natural laundry supplies.
The Alternative Energy Car Show returned to the Fairgrounds this year. This showy Tesla Roadster was a favorite with attendees.
