About 10 years ago in early spring, I threw some aster seeds that I had saved from the previous year out into my flower garden. I was surprised later to discover they had germinated and grown.
Since then, I sow the seeds every year in mid-March, uncovered, and always have more than enough spring flowers for myself and to give away.
