I had several used tree-trimming blades that weren’t as sharp as I prefer. They were just sitting in my shed after I replaced them with new ones. I also had a broken axe handle in the same shed, so I decided to affix one of the blades to the axe handle to make a short cutting tool that’s sharp enough to trim small branches.
To assemble this homemade tool, I only had to purchase a bolt, a nut, a washer and a screw — and donate a little elbow grease. The tool works like a bow saw and it can even get into tight areas for trimming branches.
