Mary Murray, Midwestern Farm Renovator and Farmers Market Baker

Occupation: wife, mom, goat wrangler, chicken whisperer, bee maven, farmers market baker, photographer, and writer sharing stories from a small farm in the Midwest.

Residence: Windy Meadows Farm, Ohio

Background:Mary is a Midwestern farmgirl who headed west to the Rocky Mountains for college, then following graduation, returned home and married her sweetheart. They settled down in a busy suburb, but it didn’t take long to convince them that it was time for a slower-paced life.  So before long, Mary and her partner found themselves spending many Saturdays driving along country roads, until they came upon a small farm for sale — the 1864 home and barns they now call home. Renovations continue through the years, and two children have joined in the fun.

“Our family enjoys the simple country pleasures: barn sales and auctions, porch swings, county fairs, Sunday dinners, farmers markets, cross-country train rides, and the comforts of home,” Mary says. “Living where there is plenty of room for gardens, animals, and for our family to relax, for us, is the best kind of life.”
