Amy Souers Kober, American Rivers Senior Communications Director

Name: Amy Souers Kober

Occupation: Senior Communications Director, American Rivers

Place of Residence: Portland, Oregon

Background and Personal History: Amy loves rivers and enjoys sharing inspiring stories about river protection and restoration. American Rivers is a national river conservation organization, and Amy is grateful I get to work on a wide variety of exciting issues – from the world’s biggest dam removal on the Elwha River, to protecting wild rivers, to spotlighting the annual America’s Most Endangered Rivers list.

Amy is also a mom to a little boy (with another on the way), and she believes that instilling in her kids a love of nature and the outdoors is one of the best things she can do for them — not to mention it’s just fun getting muddy. When she’s not at her computer, you’ll find Amy playing dinosaurs and dragons with her boys, running, or planning their next river trip.
