73 MPH On Wood Gas Sets New Record

As I mentioned last week in I Went 84 MPH in a Wood Gas Truck, Wayne Keith has raised the bar for official land speed via wood gas. On Sept. 14, 2011, Wayne participated in the Bonneville Salt Flats World of Speed time trials. His best speeds came in his third and last run:

0.2 mile: 48.9 mph

0.5 mile: 62 mph

1 mile: 73 mph
