Lemon Lemmo Drink Recipe

Customize this refreshing beverage by substituting lemons with oranges.


1 3/4 cups sugar
Juice of 6 lemons (1 1/4 cups)


1. In a saucepan over medium-high heat, bring the sugar and lemon juice to a gentle boil and stir until the sugar is dissolved.

2. Pour the syrup in a squeaky-clean bottle and keep it in the fridge. With sparkling water, this will make a delicious drink on a hot day. Serves 4

Customize it!

Replace lemon with orange.

Add 1 inch grated fresh ginger, let steep, and strain the syrup before you pour it into the bottle.

Add mint leaves to the glass of lemmo.

Add a handful of fresh rose petals or dried jasmine (from a specialty tea store) to the syrup in the pan, turn off the heat, and let it steep for about 1 hour, then strain it into the bottle.
