What is Bronchitis?

Bronchitis is inflammation and infection of the lining of the bronchial tubes. Symptoms of bronchitis include wheezing, shortness of breath, chest tightness, fatigue, heavy and multicolored mucus production (clear, white, yellow, green), and persistent cough.

There are two types of bronchitis: Acute and chronic. Acute bronchitis comes on suddenly as a result of a cold or flu virus. Chronic bronchitis is often the result of cigarette smoking, allergies, and air pollution.

Natural Treatments for Bronchitis

If you are intolerant to conventional antibiotics or they have stopped working for you, you have several natural options to treat your bronchitis.

Oregano Oil

Oregano oil is one of the strongest natural antibiotics on the planet. Its incredible antioxidant capacityoregano oil can be used to treat bronchitis makes it the go-to solution for flu prevention and natural bronchitis treatment. The active ingredient in this herb is carvacrol, a phenol anti-microbial and anti-inflammatory that eases chest congestion and eradicates disease.

You can take oregano oil in capsule form (250 milligrams 2 times per day until symptoms subside) or liquid form. In liquid form, use 5-10 drops of pure oregano oil in a four-ounce glass of water twice per day until symptoms subside. Always use a straw to drink pure oregano oil even in water as the pure oil can burn your lips.

There is a way to prevent bronchitis. Sambucol is a natural product that is an Elderberry extract available from the health food store or even now in drugstores. It is a virus cell blocker. It stops a cold in as little as 24 hours. My husband used to get at least 3 colds a year that would develop into bronchitis and he'd be sick for weeks. Now as soon as he feels like he's getting a cold, he takes as little as one tablespoon twice of Sambucol, and does not get sick. It gets rid of the flu fast, too. Two people that were over 75 years old that had just got the flu a couple of days before, took Sambucol when I gave it to them and both were better 2 days later. A lot better! This stuff really works, and it's cheap and lasts in the frig for at least a year after opening for the syrup or get the pills. Works for kids, too, as they always bring home colds from school.

This is the exact program I followed to get rid of flu and bronchitis naturally ( http://the-natural-way.info/cure-bronchitis-at-home.php ). You'll be absolutely thrilled with the step-by-step plan that guides you through the ultimate solution to get rid of flu and bronchitis, that you'll only have one regret -- and that is this: Not having had this valuable resource years ago!

I quit a 'recreational smoking' habit three weeks ago. With that, I also cut out caffeine and alcohol, the latter for at least a good while. I began to have 'recalibration' symptoms as I call them. My body had to reestablish normal for me, inflammation and such. It hurt, but I knew it was the best thing. The one thing I didn't plan on or expect: bronchitis. My mucus and phlegm expulsions were expected, as I knew they were side effects of a long term habit. What I didn't see coming, getting actually ill. I only take herbal remedies and even though I would feel really great some days, like I'm over it, all it took was one misstep or added stress and I'd be back coughing and feeling bad. Then, I realized bronchitis. When I found this article, after accepting this truth, I was so relieved to see such a wonderful article, with such helpful information about treatment. I have all these ingredients, save a few. I just took a spoonful of crushed onion, garlic and raw honey with cayenne. Add one capsule of approx 250 mg of my oregano oil and I'm already feeling its positive effects. I just wanted to share this for others to know they aren't alone in side effects of habits they might have and herbal treatments for symptoms. It's not to be judged, but continuous use does have negative side effects. Just wish there was more out there talking about this. I am SO happy and relieved to have found this article. It's wonderful these effective home remedies are being shared. I hope others can realize the true benefits of herbal uses. I am always reading MEN articles, and created an account just to say a BIG Thankyou!!

The main causes of bronchitis are cold, cigarette smoking, allergies, or flu attack. Natural home remedies are working very well in this case. Such as using honey, olive leaf, garlic, onion, orange oil etc.

I have a couple of questions. How much garlic & honey do you use? On the cinnamon thing. Do you use ground or whole cinnamon. How often do you take? Just a note here. I did try the garlic & raw honey thing last night. I used one clove garlic, minced & about 1\4 cup of raw honey. I don't like a lot of sweets, so that's what I felt might be right for me. It did help. Thanks so much.

I like to grow oregano for cooking. Can I make the oregano oil mentioned in your story. If so...how? Thanks for the great tips.
