Learn how to install a hive top feeder to keep your bees well-fed through the fall and early winter.
From Brushy Mountain Bee Farm
We're back with our friends at Brushy Mountain Bee Farm to demonstrate how to install a hive top feeder to supply plenty of food for your hives in fall and early winter. These feeders let you provide food without needing to disturb the hive as often as other feeding methods. Most important with these types of feeders is to provide an escape route for bees that might fall into the sugar syrup—in this case, floaters placed directly on the surface of the syrup provide a stable landing zone for hungry bees.
