Happy Holidays! Time for gifts and squeals of delight from the youngsters (or oldsters) in your life. If you just can’t think of the perfect gift for a special child, there is still time to build a wonderful, memorable toy or game. Toys to Build for the Young and the Young at Heart includes patterns and instructions for a wooden train complete with animals, a rocking horse, tunnel slide, doll cradle, a rubber-band rifle and much more. Most are made from wood scraps you have in the workshop. There are even plans for old-fashioned games, such as a wooden snapper, flipper carnival man and a bead maze.

If you build any of these toys, post a comment below or better yet, post a photo on our photo-sharing site.
