Chick

Row 1: K36 with Icicle.
Work in Seed st for 2-1/2 inches. BO all sts and cut the yarn, leaving a 10-inch tail.
Attach Icicle on RS where the work was divided for the first half. K1 row. Work back and forth in Seed st for 2-1/2 inches.
Dec Rows: K2tog 5 times at beg of the next 2 rows.
Next Dec Rows: K2tog at the beg and end of each row 4 times until you have 22 sts on the needle.
Cut the yarn, leaving a 10-in. tail. Thread a tapestry needle and pass it through the rem sts on the needle. Pull tightly and–presto!–the head of the chick takes shape. With the same tail, sew a seam along the top of the chick and secure the remainder of the yarn to the inside of the work. With the other tail, carefully sew up the width of the chick.
Finishing
Weave in all loose ends. With Black, make two French knots for the eyes of the chick. Make a large French knot using Scarlet for the beak. This cute chick cap is complete!
