She is the principle of EcoNest Architecture. She is primary author of Prescriptions for a Healthy House and co-author with husband Robert Laporte of EcoNest: Creating Sustainable Sanctuaries of Clay, Straw and Timber.
Born in Toronto, Canada, Paula earned her Architectural degree from University of Toronto. She lived in Santa Fe, N.M., from 1981 to 2009 and had a busy architectural practice. Paula moved to Ashland, Ore., after 2009, where she currently works and resides with her husband, a natural building pioneer — and educator at their EcoNest Company — Robert Laporte.
