Background and Personal History: Courtney has lived in Ohio her entire life, and wouldn’t have it any other way! She grew up in a small town in southwest Ohio, where she lived until she moved to Athens to go to college at Ohio University. After graduating with a degree in plant biology and women and gender studies she married her high school sweetheart and moved to Columbus where her husband was attending Ohio State University to earn his degree in veterinary medicine. They now live in the Cincinnati area with their three adorable cats and are looking forward to small-town living near the big city.
Courtney enjoys practicing yoga, birdwatching, hiking, writing, reading and making art and craft projects. She’s also an avid baker, making gluten-free versions of her favorite treats from growing up has become a fun experiment.
Current Projects: Courtney’s current projects include writing about Ohio museums, parks, restaurants and events at This Ohio Life, writing and illustrating a children’s book about her cat, Olivia, and new ways to DIY and craft.
Other Fun Facts: Courtney is named after her great-grandfather, John Courtney Reed. She was also born on his birthday, February 3, almost 100 years later.
