Most parts of the country have Master Gardener programs through the County Extension or state University systems. Contact a local Master Gardener program for help with what to plant in your area. These highly-trained volunteers do community outreach and assist others as part of their ongoing certification requirements. They'll be happy to answer your questions and help you get started.

    Good luck!

I am moving to north central Arkansas in Oct. and would like to find some info on available organic type fertilizers. and pest control. I have always gardened organically in the Pacific Northwest but there are far fewer bugs and diseases here. Thanks for you help.

We are having a home built, we will be moving in the middle of June. We desperately want to learn what to plant and how to plant. We want flowers, that are seasonal and some that will come back again and again. We would like to have unique flowers as well as some climbing flowers that we can put trelleses up for.

Neither my husband nor myself know how to do any of this to any degree. I am pretty successful with potted plants.

We would also like to plant some strawberries and some tomatoes. Maybe plant a fruit tree or two. We want to make our landscape beautiful yet, we don't want it so complicated that it takes up all our free time. This would take the joy out of it. We realize we will have to put time in and we are excited about learning.

We are beginners so, we probally need to start out pretty simple. I love a mixture of like 8 to 15 different flowers all in the same bed.

Would appreciate any suggestions and detailed information you can help us with.

Thanks A Bunch, Carolyn and Randy
