Use VHS Tape to Deter Deer

Turn the tape from old VHS movies into fencing that will deter deer and other garden thieves.

I have been using this VHS tape deer-fencing method for 10 years, and it’s so effective that the buzzing sound even scares me occasionally.

To just keep deer out of the garden, two strings of VHS tape are sufficient, but I also have chickens, so I place a triple line of defense at the bottom of the fence.

The tape must be taut so that it will make buzzing sounds in the wind. The flickering of light reflecting off the tape seems to deter the smaller animals. This fencing material is inexpensive and easy to replace.
