You should consult this policy to understand how we collect, use, share, and disclose non-public personal information about you that is subject to privacy regulations and statutes.

Sources of Information and What Information We Collect

Ogden Publications, Inc. collects information from our website users, magazine subscribers, email subscribers, and customers. Below, we will describe the types of information we collect and how we use it to provide better services to our customers.

Types of Information We Collect and How We Use It

Ogden Publications, Inc. is the sole owner of the information collected through our services. In the preceding twelve months, we have collected the following categories of information through our services:

Website

When you visit our website, we or the other services we use, such as Google, may automatically collect non-personally identifiable information, such as online behavior and information about your computer, mobile, or other devices. The information collected may include, without limitation, the make, model, settings, specifications (e.g., CPU speed, connection speed, browser type, operating system, device identifier), and geographic location of you and/or your computer, mobile, or other devices, as well as date/time stamp, IP address, pages visited, time of visits, content viewed, ads viewed, the site(s), application(s), destination(s), and/or service(s) you arrived from, and other clickstream data. We use this information to monitor and improve our websites and Services.

Magazine Subscription and Newsletter

When you subscribe to one of our publications, we may ask you to provide your name, mailing address, email address, and phone number (collectively, “Contact Information”). This information is collected so that we can fulfill your subscription, send you invoices, and contact you about your subscription. When you sign up for our newsletters, we may ask you to provide your name and email address, as well as demographic information, hobbies, and interests (collectively, “Demographic and Interests Information”). We use this information to provide the requested services as well as provide relevant special offers. Once you become a subscriber, we may store your subscription information, including its start date, renewal date, pricing, publication subscribed to, and any customer service contacts you may have with us (collectively, “Subscriber Information”).

We gather statistics around email openings and clicks using industry-standard technologies to help us monitor and improve our newsletters. You can opt out of our email messages at any time by following the unsubscribe instructions located near the bottom of each message. If you have received an email in error or would like to submit a complaint regarding an email message you received, please contact our Customer Care Department at CustomerService@OgdenPubs.com or call 800-678-5779.

Store Purchase

When you purchase products offered through one of our websites or publications, we may ask you to provide your name, mailing address, email address, phone number, and payment information. We also keep a history of your purchases. We use this information to fulfill your purchase, to better assist you when you visit or contact us in the future, to process and deliver promotions, to understand you and your preferences (such as to enhance your experience and enjoyment using the Services and determine whether marketing offers from third parties would be of interest to you), and improve our product offerings.

Payment Information

For our services that require payment (such as certain events, products, and subscriptions), we also collect credit card information (such as account name, number, expiration date, and verification code), which is used for billing purposes only. When payment information is transmitted to us online, it is encrypted and transmitted securely.

Online Registration

Registration may be required to participate in certain website features, such as commenting or reading premium content. When you register, you may be asked for personal information such as your name, email address, and a username and password that you select. We collect this information to identify who you are, provide you with access to the service you requested, and communicate forgotten password notifications.

Promotions

When you enter a contest, sweepstakes, or giveaway (“promotion”), or register for an event, online course, or webinar, we may ask you to provide your name, mailing address, phone number, email address, and Demographic and Interest Information. We use the information collected to administer your participation in the promotion, to notify you about the upcoming events, online courses, and webinars, and to notify the promotion winners and award prizes. Name, city, and state will also be listed on our promotion winner’s page in order to comply with promotion laws.

We may offer promotions that are sponsored or co-sponsored or presented with identified third parties. The third parties will be identified on the promotion entry form. By participating in such promotions the information you voluntarily submit may be provided to both Ogden Publications, Inc. and the third parties identified on the form. Ogden Publications, Inc. has no control over the third parties’ use of this information. Participation in these promotions is completely voluntary and the user therefore has a choice whether to disclose the requested information.

Surveys

When you participate in a survey or poll we may ask you to provide your name, mailing address, phone number, email address, demographic information, and/or interests. We use this information for market research, audience analysis, and to improve our Services. We may also share survey information with advertisers and marketing partners in an aggregated, non-personally identifiable form.

Email this Article

If you elect to use our referral service for informing a friend about our articles, sites, and services, we may ask for the friend’s name and email address. Ogden Publications, Inc. will store and use this information to send the friend an invitation. This information may also be used to provide the friend information about our company and related products and services. The friend may contact us as specified in the subsequent message to request that no further communications be sent.

Communications with Us

We have features where users can submit information to us (such as our comment/feedback forms). Letters to the editor and similar submissions may be made public. Requests for service, support, or information may be forwarded as needed to best respond to a specific request. We may retain emails and other information sent to us for our internal administrative purposes, and to help us to serve customers better.

Communications from Us

In order to best serve our customers, we may send updates that contain important information about our sites and services. The email address you provide for order processing may be used to send you information and updates pertaining to your order or request, in addition to receiving occasional company news, updates, related product or service information, third-party promotions, etc. We may also send promotional messages to an email or postal mail address that our cookies associate with you when you browse our sites.

Note: If at any time you would like to unsubscribe from receiving future emails, we include detailed unsubscribe instructions at the bottom of each email.

Digital Advertising and Analytics

We may partner with ad networks and other ad servicing providers (“Advertising Providers”) that serve ads on behalf of us and other non-affiliated platforms. Some of those ads may be personalized, meaning that they are intended to be relevant to you based on the information Advertising Providers collect about your use of our website and other sites or apps over time, including information about relationships among different browsers and devices. This type of advertising is known as targeted advertising.

You may visit the DAA Webchoices tool at www.aboutads.info to learn more about this type of advertising and how to opt out of this advertising on websites by companies participating in the DAA self-regulatory program. You can also exercise choices regarding targeted advertising on your mobile device by downloading the appropriate version of the DAA’s AppChoices tool at https://youradchoices.com/appchoices.

If you delete your cookies or use a different browser or mobile device, you may need to renew your opt-out choices exercised through the DAA Webchoices tool. Note that electing to opt out will not stop advertising from appearing in your browser or applications. It may make the ads you see less relevant to your interests.

We may also work with third parties that collect data about your use of our website and other sites or apps over time for non-advertising purposes. Ogden uses Google Analytics and other third-party services to improve the performance of our website and for analytics and marketing purposes. For more information about how Google Analytics collects and uses data when you use our Website, visit Google’s privacy policy. To opt out of Google Analytics, visit tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

Additionally, your browser may offer tools to limit the use of cookies or to delete cookies; however, if you use these tools, our Websites may not function as intended.

With Whom We Share Your Information

We may share your personal information with the following types of third parties:

Authorized Service Providers

We may share your personal information with our authorized service providers and vendors who perform services on our behalf. These services include fulfilling orders, processing credit card payments, delivering packages, providing customer service and marketing assistance, performing business and sales analysis, supporting our website functionality, and supporting contests, sweepstakes, surveys, newsletters, and other features offered through our website. These service providers may have access to personal information needed to perform their functions but are not permitted to share or use such information for any other purpose.

Third-Party Marketing Partners

We may make your Contact Information, Demographic and Interests Information, and Subscriber Information available to third parties (“Third-Party Marketing Partners”) for the purpose of offering products and services that may interest you, unless you opt-out of such sharing. We provide you with the option to opt-out of all such sharing, as set forth in the section below entitled “Notice of Your Choices About Our Use and Sharing of Personal Information.”

Other Situations

We may disclose your information when requested as part of a subpoena or similar investigative demand, a court order, or a request for cooperation from a law enforcement or other government agency. We may also disclose your information to establish our legal rights, to defend against legal claims, to enforce our agreements, policies, and terms of use, or if otherwise required by law. We may also transfer your personal information in connection with or during negotiations of any merger, financing, acquisition, or dissolution, transaction or proceeding involving sale, transfer, divesture, or disclosure of all or a portion of our business or assets to another company.

We may share aggregate information, which is not personally identifiable, with others. This information may include usage and demographic data, but it will not include personal information.

Notice of Your Choices About Our Use and Sharing of Personal Information

Users have the opportunity to choose whether to have personal information shared with Third-Party Marketing Partners. If you wish to opt-out of the sharing of your Personal Information with our Third-Party Marketing Partners, please contact our Customer Care Department at CustomerService@Ogdenpubs.com or call 800-678-5779. You can also use the Global Privacy Control (GPC) tool to signal your opt-out preferences. The GPC is a third-party tool, and you can activate the GPC by implementing a browser or extension that offers this tool. We have implemented mechanisms to respond to GPC signals that we receive on our website, where required, and we treat these signals as requests to opt-out of the sharing of personal information with Third-Party Marketing Partners.

Please note, however, that even if you “opt out” as described above, we will not be able to remove Personal Information about you from the databases of affiliates or third parties with which we have already shared your Personally Identifiable Information. If you wish to stop receiving marketing messages from such affiliates or third parties, please contact them directly or utilize the opt-out mechanisms set forth in their respective privacy policies or marketing messages.

If you do not wish to receive future commercial messages from us, simply follow the unsubscribe instructions contained within the message you receive. Please note that we will endeavor to implement requests within a reasonable time, although for a time users may continue to receive mailings, etc., transmitted based on information released prior to the implementation of the request. Users will continue to receive information directly related to their registered services, so they are always kept informed.

If you prefer not to receive marketing (whether traditional mail or email marketing) from us, you can also call 800-678-5779 or contact our Customer Care Department at CustomerService@OgdenPubs.com.
