Why settle for preservative-packed frozen dinners, freeze-dried backpacking food, and military ready-to-eat meals when a healthier and tastier option can easily be stored in the pantry? Meals in a Jar provides the step-by-step, detailed instructions needed to create all-natural breakfast, lunch, and dinner options that you can keep on a shelf and enjoy at any time. Includes all-in-one meals, such as:

  • Creamy tomato soup
  • Artisan bread
  • Lemon chicken piccata
  • Chocolate cake

These scrumptious recipes allow even the most inexperienced chefs to serve gourmet dishes. Not only are these meals perfect for everyday events like camping trips, after-school study sessions, and rushed evenings, but they can also be lifesavers in times of disasters like fires, blackouts, or hurricanes. Perfect for the modern jarring and canning generation, this book proves that just because food is easy-to-store and long-lasting doesn't mean it can't be delicious and nutritious.

Nice book

It wasn’t quite what I expected. I’ve made meals in jars before but only with dry goods, in jars. I wasn’t expecting there to be “wet” foods or vacuum sealing bags.

Some interesting recipes

There are some interesting recipes here that would be great for camping or if you have to get something on the stove quick for your family if you are out of town and they have to fend for themselves. However having to buy cheese powders and other items dehydrated powders does not spell clean eating for me. I’ll make a few for camping trips but not something I will use on a regular basis.

Excited to try

Haven't used it yet. Have some things necessary to start but need to budget to purchase others. Looking forward to using every idea!

Not quite what I thought

I was looking for a book of recipes for good travel meals that didn’t require a lot of intervention from me. This book is much more about canning meals for the future. The recipes use a lot of dehydrated products and many require a stove or oven and other pots and pans to complete. Am still planning to try some of the recipes to add to the pantry, just not for work lunches or vacation.

Hi Kathy, thank you for your feedback! We're so sorry Meals In A Jar wasn't exactly what you were expecting.
