    Get your hands dirty and learn new homesteading skills! PLUS you take what you make!

    Learn three leather stitches – blanket, saddle, and whip stitch – and the times when each is used. Participants will receive a kit that includes the leather pieces to make a 4-inch-by-6-inch pouch, needles, artificial sinew, and instruction on how to sew the pouch together using the three stitches.

    Learn the basics of wet stone knife sharpening from tool expert Jonathon LeValley. LeValley spends hundreds of hours each year researching and testing tools and is ready to show you how to avoid the pitfalls of unnecessary equipment and cut through the myths surrounding establishing and maintaining an edge. Participants will be provided with an intentionally dull knife that is theirs to keep. Under careful and rigorous instruction they'll leave with a knife that has been freshly and professionally sharpened by their own two hands. Participants will also be given the option to purchase the sharpening stone and oil they used at the end of the workshop at an exclusive discounted price.

    Spend an hour getting the gist of how honey, yeast and water combine to produce that magical elixir known as mead.

    In this hands-on workshop, Christy Hemenway will show you what it takes to make mead, and how the process works. You can make delicious mead at home with very little specialized equipment. Make a few bottles or scale it up to bigger batches and supply your friends and family with your own signature product! Participants will make a batch of mead to take home with them.
