Get to know Sherri Brooks Vinton of Storey Publishing. 

What are you going to speak about at the MOTHER EARTH NEWS FAIR? 

Sherri Brooks VintonI am going to be covering the Boiling Water Method, the most popular method for preserving your own food at home. It's such a simple technique that covers so much ground. With it you can put up so many things: jams, jellies, salsas, chutneys, pickles, fruit, tomatoes and more. And it's much easier than many think. It doesn't require a lot of extra kitchen equipment or special knowledge. If you can boil water, you can have a bountiful pantry all year round.

What are you most looking forward to sharing with FAIR attendees? 

I look forward to returning to the MOTHER EARTH NEWS FAIR this year to talk about preserving food at home. It's such a joy to share this time-honored craft with the MOTHER EARTH NERWS community, many of whom have been canning for decades and some who are new to the technique. I love sharing memories of the home preserved foods we grew up with and our aspirations for building an increasingly delicious pantry!
