Wedding Refreshments: Red Bean Dip

Red bean dip adds a streak of zest and flair to any occasion.

Say the words "red beans" and images of bayou country come to mind. We won’t pretend this dish is regional cuisine, but there’s no harm in drawing from the region if you need a counterpoint to less seasoned fare. For guests who can handle it, red bean dip will add a little heat to your wedding refreshments.

Red Bean Dip

Mix the following:

3 cups cooked red beans, mashed
1 cup tomato sauce
2 jalapeno peppers
1 teaspoon granulated garlic
2 teaspoons oregano
1 green pepper, minced salt to taste
