Amy Woodhouse, owner and farmer of Sow Edible Farm and Nursery in Warrenton NC, has a passion for leading and teaching others sustainable agricultural practices. While holding a Masters Degree in Education and spending 10 years in the elementary school classroom, she fostered a side hobby of learning and experimenting with a variety of sustainable gardening techniques alongside her family. Six years ago, Amy and her family began developing their Off Grid sustainable farm where they grow thousands of fruit and nut trees, harvest from a year round kitchen garden, and live in a passive solar off grid house that they designed and built themselves. Together with her husband Stacy, they share their knowledge thru their Podcast, speaking engagements, conferences, and social media. Sow Edible Farm Nursery offers consulting services as well as a variety of sustainable plants, trees, and bulbs sold both commercially and to retail customers. Additionally, Amy has published a garden planner to encourage others to find success in their own backyard. Jessi Bloom is a best-selling author, award-winning ecological landscape designer, and speaker. She owns N.W. Bloom EcoLogical Landscapes, based near Seattle, which is known as an innovator and leader in the field of permaculture, sustainable landscape design, construction and land management. Her work has been recognized by government agencies and industry organizations, and makes headlines in national media. She lives near Seattle with her two sons on their permaculture homestead, which is full of functional gardens and rescue animals.
Patricia Foreman is a sustainable agriculture author, local foods activist, and popular speaker. She (and her co-presenter, chicken celebrity Oprah Hen-Free) has presented workshops and book signings at major national festivals and conferences across the United States. She is the author of City Chicks. To help “Chick Start America,” she developed the Backyard Chicken Keeper Certification course. Foreman graduated from Purdue University with degrees in animal science and pharmacy. She has a master’s of public affairs from Indiana University’s Graduate School of Public and Environmental Affairs.
