If you have an aquarium, consider the value of the wastewater you siphon off every time you clean it. One of the best things you can do with this nutrient-rich fish water is to offer it to your plants, both indoors and out. Organic, nitrogen-rich aquarium wastewater can give your plants a nutritious boost any time of the year. Plus, it’s already diluted, so you won’t have to worry about it burning your plants.

When I had an aquarium that’s exactly what I did. You need to replenish the water anyway so why not use it for my plants. The plants loved it.

This is a great idea. It's one half of the process called aquaponics. Fish waste is great for plants and water filtered through plant roots is good for fish but that's another story. Goldfish in the rain barrel is also a good idea

YES! I have also started putting 20 feeder type goldfish in each of my rain barrels because they condition the plant water and are fed by keeping the mosquito larvae out ! Amazing gardening tactic :)
