Yogurt has been sold in the United States since the 1920s, when the first commercial dairy opened in Methuen, Massachusetts. Today, it’s a household staple you can find in any grocery store. Plain yogurt is one of my favorite beauty ingredients, because it’s so simple and effective. Mildly acidic, it’s perfect for removing surface impurities and restoring the skin’s own protective acid mantle. Yield: 2 ounces, enough for 1 facial mask.
- 1/4 cup plain Greek yogurt
- 1 teaspoon raw honey
- Mix the yogurt and honey together and stir well.
To use: Spread the mask onto clean skin, and let sit for 15 to 20 minutes.
Rinse it off, or shower with warm water, and pat your skin dry.
Remember to follow with a rich moisturizer or oil, such as almond or jojoba oil.
