Firewood Processors

Selectively thinning a woodlot is a sustainable practice, and not all of the trees will be suitable for lumber. Heating with wood is a good option for many people, and with proper equipment, cutting enough wood to heat your home and domestic water can be easier than you might think.

If you want some exercise, you can carry a saw and axe into the forest and, as the old saying goes, “warm yourself twice” (once while cutting the wood and later when you burn it). If you’re looking for a less strenuous option, you can cut and trim trees with a chain saw, then load long lengths of trunk or major limbs onto a firewood processor, and operate the controls while the machine cuts firewood into uniform lengths and splits it.

After watching some of these videos, you might even decide to start your own firewood business.
