Ever wonder how a cicada might taste? We've got recipes and capturing details on how to prepare and eat a cicada.

We finally got around to building a proper porch and Anna summed up some of the building lessons we learned in a post titled Porch Building Tips.

The golf cart continues to be a real work horse for hauling in supplies over our delicate floodplain. I learned last week how balancing the load can seriously increase how much total weight can be carried. After a bit of research we've decided to upgrade the springs on our Club Car golf cart. Stay tuned for a future update on what a difficult operation that might turn out to be.

Anna Hess and Mark Hamilton are quite busy this month installing bees and planting the bulk of their garden. In addition to homesteading Mark and Anna make and sell a new kind of chicken waterer that is way better than the traditional gravity method.
