Competition for the 2007 Solar Decathlon is heating up! Twenty teams from colleges and universities have been selected for the contest in Washington, D.C. Teams design energy-efficient homes — and all energy needed to operate the houses must be solar based.

The overall winner is selected based on success in ten areas, including architecture, comfort zone, hot water, lighting, energy balance and five other areas. October 12 through 20, 2007, you can tour the homes on the National Mall (except on October 17 during judging).
