A Recycled Kettle Grill Gets New Life From an Old Basketball Hoop

A recycled kettle grill gets new life using old basketball parts. This improvised kettle grill uses an old basketball hoop, two c-clamps, and a piece of one-inch steel pipe about five feet long driven into the ground.

This recycled kettle grill gets a new life using old parts of a basketball hoop.

In 1985 I received a kettle grill as a Father's Day gift. After many years of faithful service, the legs rusted and no longer held up the grill. Unable to do without my trusted rib machine, I improvised and made a recycled kettle grill from old parts. An old basketball hoop, two c-clamps, and a piece of one-inch steel pipe about five feet long driven into the ground saved the day. The kettle sat in the hoop perfectly, and the hooks intended for the net were ideal for hanging grilling implements on.

I used the plans at WWW.EASYWOODWORK.ORG to build my own – I highly recommend you visit that website and check their plans out too. They are detailed and super easy to read and understand unlike several others I found online. The amount of plans there is mind-boggling… there’s like 16,000 plans or something like that for tons of different projects. Definitely enough to keep me busy with projects for many more years to come haha. Go to WWW.EASYWOODWORK.ORG if you want some additional plans :)
