Background: Jamie was born and raised in a small town in North Central Massachusetts. As a child, he spent all of his free time in the woods. At the age of 23, Jamie found his love for the outdoors through mountaineering and climbing.

Shortly after his newfound love of the outdoors, he attended Greenfield Community College in Western Mass. There, he studied Outdoor Leadership with a focus on climbing and primitive skills. After finishing school, Jamie headed out to California to pursue his guiding career.

After a short stay in Northern California, Jamie returned to New England and started his own mountain guiding service North Ridge Mountain Guides.  After a few years commuting to the White Mountains, Jamie and his girlfriend, Becky, decided it was time to move to New Hampshire’s White Mountains and follow their dream of building an off-grid, mini-homestead debt free.
