Alison Rogers used to dream about a job in which she could write about agriculture and its relation to the environment, but she never thought she’d be lucky enough to find it, especially in her hometown of Topeka, Kan. She worked as an editor for MOTHER EARTH NEWS for several years beginning in 2006.
Ali is a graduate of Kansas State University, where she studied agricultural communications and natural resource and environmental science — a combination that becomes increasingly relevant as the world’s population soars and finite resources become increasingly scarce.
Food production and policy are at the top of Ali’s list of interests, which also includes wildlife and natural resource conservation. Evenings and weekends, Ali enjoys being with her family, and two muddy-yet-lovable herding dogs. All of them spend as much time out-of-doors as possible.
