Get your (green) motor running at the Mother Earth News FairWorkshops show how to build a variety of alternative-fuel vehicles 

TOPEKA, Kan. (Aug. 30, 2010) — Are you tired of paying higher prices for gasoline? Would you like to know more about alternative fuel options?

At the Mother Earth News Fair, slated for Sept. 25-26 at Seven Springs Mountain Resort near Pittsburgh, green car enthusiasts can learn more about fuel-efficient vehicles as well as those that run on electricity and wood.

Scheduled green transportation speakers and topics include:

  • Chip Beam – build a wood-fueled car
  • Jack McCornack – learn from MAX, the fuel-efficient DIY car
  • Ben Nelson – build your own electric car, cheap
  • John Rockhold – maximize your gas mileage

The Mother Earth News Fair will offer more than 200 sessions on green transportation, DIY projects, green building and remodeling, renewable energy, homesteading, small-scale livestock, real food, organic gardening, and related topics.

Attendees also can take part in a green shopping pavilion; live music; vendor, livestock and craft demonstrations; artisan food tastings; a seed swap; local and organic food offerings; and children’s projects.
