About the author
Thomas has been raising cattle since she was 12 years old. She and her husband have raised a herd of cattle that they have cross-bred to meet the needs of their rugged and hilly ranch in Salmon, Idaho. Thomas has written many books, including Storey’s Your Calf and Guide to Raising Beef Cattle. Her most recent work is Guide to Raising Horses, the newest book in the popular Storey’s Animal Handbook Series. Thomas has also written many articles on horses, farms and livestock. She and her husband live in Idaho.
