Wind Power Worldwide

8/23/2007 12:00:00 AM

Ever wondered which parts of the world have the most wind power? The Global Wind Energy Council (GWEC) has a list of the top 10 countries with the greatest installed wind power capacity.

According to their 2006 Global Wind Report, Germany currently has the most wind-generated electricity. Spain is second in wind power, the United States is third and the rest of the top 10 are (in order): India, Denmark, China, Italy, the UK, Portugal and France.

If you're seeking these types of statistics, take a closer look at the rest of the GWEC report for more information on wind power worldwide. And for those of us in the United States, another useful resource for reference information is the latest report on U.S. wind power from the Department of Energy.
