I always enjoy watching videos from the TED website. Here’s an interesting one on tapping wind energy with kites. The idea is that kites have the potential to get much higher up in the air than even the largest wind turbines, so they’re a good tool for tapping into the large amount of wind power found at high altitudes.

Our current ecological (global warming) problems are going to be solved with a combination of subtle shifts in all of our lives and the way we use and value energy in combination with the innovations of creative individuals like this. CFLs, PV systems, hybrid cars, and mass transit make a valued difference, but it is the visionaries and risk-takers who stand to change our world and create entirely new industries. Power from kites might look a little whacky, but these whacky thinkers are apt to be our next slew of multi-billionaires. Brilliant! Dave www.GreenBusinessOwner.com
