CALGARY, ALBERTA - QSolar Limited today announced that it has introduced its' new Kristal and Kristal Rainbow range of semi-transparent and colour semi-transparent solar panels. Following the successful introduction of QSolar's frameless Spraytek range of solar panels, the Kristal range consists of rigid, frameless solar panels that allow light to partially pass through them. These panels will be used in building applications to replace windows, roofs, and even walls and are designed to address structural requirements while at the same time producing electricity from the sun.
Andreas Tapakoudes, President & CEO of QSolar, commented "QSolar's Kristal panels address the Building Integrated Photovoltaic Market (BIPV) which is expanding at a very rapid rate in Europe. The availability of coloured panels creates an even larger potential market for us because the Kristal panels enable architects and designers to implement a wide variety of building applications. We are pleased to have received several inquiries for the new products and anticipate that the Kristal panels will successfully address the rapidly growing BIPV opportunity."
QSolar is manufacturing solar photovoltaic (PV) panels under a contract manufacturing agreement in China using its proprietary patent pending Spraytek process and its own designs. QSolar products were introduced in July 2010 and have attracted significant interest, orders and letters of intent from European and U.S. markets. QSolar Spraytek panels offer several advantages over competing products as they have significantly lower losses in hot climates due to their design, offer superior solar cell encapsulation for better protection and longer life and cost less than equivalent products. In addition, QSolar offers solar panels with positive tolerance which means that the customer will get a guaranteed output which can be up to 5% more than the actual specifications.
QSolar commenced trading on the Canadian National Stock Exchange (CNSX) under the symbol QSL on March 25, 2011 through a reverse take-over of Bricol Capital Corporation. For more information on QSolar please view the Listing Statement on the CNSX website, www.cnsx.ca.
