Greensburg Green Town

Reader Contribution by Troy Griepentrog

In early May, the town of Greensburg, Kan., was nearly completely destroyed by a tornado. Now, the town of 1,500 people is being rebuilt as a model ‘green’ town. Daniel Wallach, executive director of Greensburg Green Town, recently wrote to Mother Earth News explaining the goals and needs of the nonprofit organization and the community. (We’ll have that letter online soon.)

Greensburg Green Town is coordinating efforts to educate and assist residents of Greensburg in making the vision a reality.

Mother Earth News has already donated magazines and books to the resource center. Other plans are in the works, so check back often for updates.
