Get to know Ken Roseboro of The Organic & Non-GMO Report.
What are you going to speak about at the MOTHER EARTH NEWS FAIR?
I am going to speak about the genetically modified food threat and what people can do about it.
What are you most looking forward to sharing with FAIR attendees?
Helping to educate them about healthy, non-GMO and organic foods and practical steps they can take to avoid GM foods. Many Americans remain unaware of the GM food issue so I want to help spread the word so that more people become educated and motivated to demand non-GMO foods.
Tell us about your background with your particular topic.
I have been writing about the threats posed by GM foods since 1999 first as a freelance writer; then in 2001 I launched a publication, The Non-GMO Report, that focuses on the controversies surrounding GM foods and the trend toward non-GMO foods. I also publish The Non-GMO Sourcebook, the world’s only “farm to fork” directory of suppliers of non-GMO seeds, grains, ingredients, feed, and food products. I’ve written 2 books, Genetically Altered Foods and Your Health and the Organic Food Handbook.
Why should fairgoers attend your presentation?
To learn about this huge threat to our food supply and what they can do to avoid GM foods and eat healthier foods.
How will you get to the FAIR, and how far do you have to travel?
I will be flying to the fair from Fairfield, Iowa.
What are you most looking forward to at the FAIR?
Meeting like minded people and enjoying all aspects of the FAIR.
What advice do you have for attendees?
Come and enjoy the FAIR and learn all you can about sustainable food and energy, natural health and other great topics.
If you were stranded on a deserted island and could have only one thing, what would you choose?
All the delicious organic food I could eat.
Thanks, Ken. We’ll see you at the FAIR!
