Learn how to build your own MAX (Mother's Automotive eXperiment) and other high-efficiency cars and trucks. Focus on streamlining, weight reduction and "right sizing" the power plant to the vehicle's task, whether it's commuting to work or carrying produce to your local farmers market. This workshop will be followed by a Q&A session.
Jack McCornack built his first vehicle capable of getting 100 miles per gallon in 1978: a motorbike efficient enough to be stopped for going 79 mph in a 55-mph zone, while lacking sufficient horsepower for freeway use (both citations on the same ticket). He's mellowed and is on four wheels lately, but still considers 100 mpg a reasonable goal.
