I want to share a way our family of nine saves on our monthly food bill. Much to our surprise, this spring we found a local CSA (community supported agriculture) program that offered a “work for food” option.

We signed up, and now two of us volunteer four hours per week to help at the farm and in the garden, reducing the cost of our share. This provides us locally grown, organic produce at a fraction of supermarket prices.
