The nation’s leading organic food and farming watchdog, The Cornucopia Institute, is raising concerns about what it describes as a conspiracy between corporate agribusiness interests and the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

Cornucopia’s new report entitled “The Organic Watergate” charges the USDA with stacking the National Organic Standards Board with agribusiness executives that have all too often sold out the interests of organic farmers and consumers. The Institute is asking organic industry stakeholders, including farmers and consumers, to join it in demanding that the USDA operate the national organic program according to the original law.
