Avoid Crop Damage From Killer Compost

Unless you made it yourself, don't assume compost is safe. Residue from herbicides intended to control weeds can cause crop damage in your garden.

If you’re planning to bring compost, manure, hay, or other mulches into your garden, be aware that there are some widely used herbicides that can persist in these materials and cause crop damage.
