A Recycled Grill Scores Two

By the Mother Earth News editors

In 1985 I received a kettle grill as a Father's Day gift. After many years of faithful service, the legs rusted and no longer held up the grill. Unable to do without my trusted rib machine, I improvised. An old basketball hoop, two c-clamps, and a piece of one-inch steel pipe about five feet long driven into the ground saved the day. The kettle sat in the hoop perfectly, and the hooks intended for the net were ideal for hanging grilling implements on.
